On the occasion of National Poetry Day on 28 September, some of the children at our Hampstead site composed a poem inspired by this year’s theme of Freedom:
Golden Freedom
Freedom is a friend,
a possibility, a hope.
We all deserve to be free no matter who we are.
What we wear, what we eat, where we sleep doesn’t matter.
We all deserve to be free no matter where we are.
Freedom is a joy,
a time to have fun.
We all deserve to be free no matter where we come from.
Freedom is a chance to bring us together,
to make friends and be happy.
We all deserve to be free no matter how we look.
Freedom is a friend to us all. Enjoy it, embrace it.
Be thankful and be happy for the freedom we have.
