The second transnational meeting of Montessori Adolescent Programme Inspiration project (MAPI) was held on 11th-13th March 2016 at the Austrian partner organization Montessori-Initiative Wieden (www.mi4.at). The first day started with a visit to the Elementary school in Vienna, before moving to the new Erdkinder which will commence in September 2016.
Participants from all partner organisation were present at the meeting: Lynne Lawrence and Pat Ludic representing AMI, Paul Pillai and Rob Gueterbock from The Montessori Place and Louise Livingston, Lizzie Kingston and Vikki Taylor from the Maria Montessori Institute London were there from the UK., Jenny Höglund from the Swedish organization Montessoriskolan Lära för Livet, Hana Chramostová, Hana Slabá, Adéla Dobešová, Radka Jandová and Zuzana Kašparová from the Czech partner Montessori školy Andílek were also in attendance.
All three of the project outputs were discussed at the meeting. To date we have created a questionnaire about the informal educational activities of the adolescent in Montessori education which will be sent to Montessori schools and other educational organizations. Data will be collected to create a European network of organizations dealing with adolescent education. The technical parameters and the content of the online platform that will be created as part of the project were also discussed. The most important part of the agenda was a discussion about the emerging methodology on “How to Start Adolescent Educational Programmes”. The practical and pedagogical aspects of Montessori adolescent educational activities were also discussed.
