The Upper Elementary children from Hampstead visited Woodberry Wetlands on Wednesday 15th June. It was a great opportunity for them to enjoy nature and learn about the variety of wildlife there: from kingfishers and reed warblers to bees, dragonflies and even bats.
The visit started with an introductory session with the guides followed by an exploratory walk around the woodland. With invertebrates being the main focus, the children spent a couple of hours looking for and observing them in different habitats. They also went pond dipping for aquatic creatures.
The Woodberry Wetlands in East London offers a wide range of activities for children and families to explore and enjoy the outdoors. Visit www.woodberrywetlands.org.uk for more information.
