Montessori Education UK’s Annual Conference on Challenging Behaviour and its Management in a Montessori Environment was held on Saturday 21 May 2016, 9.45am – 4.30pm, at The Rembrandt Hotel, London.
In this workshop, paediatric neuropsychologist Dr. Steven Hughes, past president of the American Academy of Paediatric Neuropsychology and chair of AMI’s research group, reviewed the physiology and psychology of the most common behaviour problems, and described the strengths and weaknesses of conventional school responses.
Louise Livingston, AMI Director of Training at the Maria Montessori Institute, helped to explore the tools in our Montessori armoury, making sure that we are taking full advantage of these before seeking outside help.
