Discover how Montessori can nurture children at home with this inspirational short course that can now be taken online. These sessions will show parents and caregivers how the Montessori approach to education and child development can support children at home. Each course focuses on a particular stage of a child’s development – see below for details of our courses focused on preparing for parenthood, children aged 0-3 years and children aged 3-6 years.

Montessori in the Home – 0-3 years – ONLINE COURSE

Explore why these early years are so important and are the critical foundation for lifelong learning. Learn about preparing the home environment, supporting language, encouraging independence and movement and topics of interest to the group such as toilet independence and weaning. Montessori in the Home – 3-6 years – ONLINE COURSE

Explore the tremendous potential of children aged three to six years and how to nurture it at home. Discover how to support your child’s independence as well as other issues raised by the group in this online course.

Montessori in the Home – Preparation for Parenthood – ONLINE COURSE

Learn about Montessori principles and how to implement them in your role as a new parent. Discuss how to prepare yourself for your new role as a parent; how to ready your home for your baby; and how to support your baby’s language, movement and independence in the first year of life; as well as issues raised by the group. This online course has four sessions.

Who is the course for?
The course is primarily for parents but is also of interest to other family members or carers including nannies and childminders.

What will this course enable me to do?
This course will provide inspiration for using a Montessori approach in the home. You will gain a certificate of attendance at the end of the course if you attend all six sessions.

How will I study?
The course will take place with live online discussion sessions with additional reading and other tasks of approximately one hour a week which can be done at a time to suit you. The sessions will be live on Zoom. You can access the sessions on a PC/laptop/tablet/smartphone with speakers, a microphone and a good internet connection. You will have some opportunities to ask the trainer questions during the session.

Please note that we strongly recommend the use of a desktop computer or laptop for all live Zoom sessions.

Do you accept students from outside the UK?
The course can be taken from anywhere in the world but will be delivered via live online sessions on Zoom so you will need to check the time in your time zone. You will need to check you can use Zoom in your country.

Can I attend the sessions with my children at home?
Many people on the course will be parents and will have children at home with them. Although ideally you will be able to give the course your full concentration, you can attend with your children in the room and mute your audio if necessary.
