The purpose of the course is to provide an introduction to the philosophy and practice of the Montessori approach.
Montessori identified different stages in children’s development and the AMI Assistants Certificate courses offered by the MMI are crafted according to these stages: 0-3, 3-6 and 6-12 years.
The courses cover:
- An introduction to Montessori Child Psychology and Child Development
- An Introduction to Montessori Educational Theory and Practice Observation
- An Introduction to the relevant Montessori Educational stage (0-3, 3-6 and 6-12 years)
Award of AMI Assistants Certificate
The Certificate is awarded to students who have satisfied the 90% attendance requirements and have completed coursework to the required standard.
This course takes place over 4 weekends:
Friday 13th – Sunday 15th March 2020
Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd March 2020
Friday 27th – Sunday 29th March 2020
Friday 24th – Sunday 26th April 2020
This course takes place over 4 weekends, 9am – 5:30pm:
Saturday 5th – Sunday 6th October 2019
Saturday 19th – Sunday 20th October 2019
Saturday 16th – Sunday 17th November 2019
Saturday 30th November – Sunday 1st December 2019
This 10 day course is split across 3 modules, 9:00am – 5:00pm:
Module 1: Saturday 19th – Sunday 20th October 2019
Module 2: Friday 25th – Sunday 27th October 2019
Module 3: Saturday 4th – Wednesday 8th April 2020
Successful interview. Minimum of 18 years of age at the start of the course.

On receipt of a completed application form and supporting documents an interview will be scheduled.
