Which Course is for Me?

If you’re new to Montessori, our different courses can be confusing! Here is a quick guide to our main qualifications to help you decide which course is for you.

AMI Assistants Certificate

  • Introduction to Montessori principles and practice at specific age levels – 0-3, 3-6 or 6-12 years
  • Fully online with a combination of live sessions and exercises/directed study
  • Offered in part-time study formats such as over 3, 6 or 12 weeks
  • Suitable preparation for Montessori school assistants, parents and others interested in the approach

AMI Diplomas

  • Internationally-recognised AMI Montessori teacher training at specific age levels – 0-3, 3-6 or 6-12 years
  • Courses are in-person, usually in London
  • 3-6 Diplomas start every September, 0-3 and 6-12 run less frequently
  • Study formats for 3-6 Diploma: one year (intensive), two years (daytime or evening options), three summers format, degree route (see below)

Foundation Degree in Montessori Pedagogy (AMI 3-6)

  • Internationally-recognised AMI Montessori teacher training at 3-6 years level
  • Ideal option for those who don’t already have a degree/ would like to access a UK student loan
  • Graduates gain a Foundation Degree awarded by the University of East London plus the AMI Diploma 3-6, optional third year of study to gain a BA (Hons)
  • Course starts every September, in-person in London, daytime study over two years
