Overview

The Progression of Cubing from the Children’s House to the Elementary is part of our #free Montessori Parent Talks for both current parents and those interested in learning more about our school.

In this talk we’ll discuss how the different materials in the Children’s House indirectly prepare the children for cubing from 3-6 years up through Elementary and into abstraction. Parents will get to see a variety of presentations with different materials such as the Decanomial Beads, Binomial and Trinomial Cubes and the Cubing material, understand their aims and purposes and how Montessori really enriches and expands the mathematical mind.

Maths is a subject that can be particularly difficult for children to understand and often times a struggle due to its abstract nature. Join our talk to see how this is overcome successfully in Montessori education with the use of concrete materials, an absence of testing and unpressured time for children to learn at their own pace.

Our Montessori Parent Talks are educational presentations and discussions with our teachers covering various topics related to Montessori education and child development.

There will also be time for Q&A and an opportunity to share your experiences with other families.

Join us for this talk on  Wednesday 2nd July 2025, 6pm at the Maria Montessori School – Bayswater.

Please note: our Montessori Parent Talks are in person only and not available online.
