Why work in Montessori?

Great job prospects

Montessori teachers, especially those with the AMI Diploma, are in high demand and can work all over the world. 90% of our graduates are in a job within 3 months or less.

Rewarding work

Have real job satisfaction every day! Working in a Montessori setting you can help children to find things out for themselves rather than just giving them facts. You will also support them to grow into caring and compassionate adults.

Positive work environment

Be the kind of teacher you always wanted to be. Montessori schools are less focused on the red tape and exam culture you might find in other schools. The parents you interact with are supportive and engaged with their children's learning.

Become part of the international Montessori family

When you train in AMI Montessori you become part of an international family of Montessorians. Our graduates make connections and have opportunities all over the world. Our course fees for AMI Diploma students entitles them to membership of the Association Montessori Internationale.

Clear career progression

Starting salaries vary by location but are competitive for newly qualified teachers. Managers and experienced teachers can earn more. There are clear career paths, for example many start as classroom assistants, become assistant then lead teachers then go on to be head of school or to run their own school.

Montessori Career Paths

For our graduates the AMI Diploma qualification is a stepping stone to a variety of careers in schools or other settings, or working with children and families or being at the forefront of child development in a totally different role.
