Upcoming school vacancies:
The Maria Montessori School, a component of the Maria Montessori Institute, enrols over 200 children between the ages of 2.5 and 12 years across various sites in North West and West London. All our teaching positions are therefore based in these London locations.
- Elementary Assistant (6-12 year olds) – We are currently seeking candidates interested in joining our growing Elementary team in the role of Classroom Assistant. The role entails overseeing the environment, supporting the social and emotional development of the children, completing administrative tasks for the classroom environment, making materials for the classroom, supporting the Lead Teacher, observing and responding to the needs of the children and environment, and facilitating strong, professional relationships with the parents and families of the school. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion, as well as to safeguarding the welfare of children. The Elementary Assistant role is a full-time, salaried position beginning as soon as possible.
- Children’s House Assistant Teacher (2½ – 6 year olds) – We are currently seeking a candidate to join our growing school community. Experience with young children and an AMI Diploma (or participation in an AMI course) is preferred. The role entails overseeing the environment, supporting the social and emotional development of the children, preparing Montessori materials, supporting the Lead Teacher with administrative tasks, and facilitating strong, professional relationships with the parents and families of the school. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion, as well as to safeguarding the welfare of children. The Assistant Teacher role is a full-time, salaried position beginning in September 2023.
- Adolescent Humanities Teacher (12 – 16 year olds) – We are excited to announce our plans to open an urban AMI Adolescent programme in September 2023, and we are seeking qualified candidates to join our passionate team of Secondary School teachers as the Humanities and English Language Teacher of the Adolescent programme (12 to 16 year olds). Experience working with Secondary School students is required and an AMI 12-18 Diploma (or an interest in obtaining the diploma) is preferred. The role will entail developing a rich offering of lessons and opportunities across the English Language, Literature, and Humanities areas, building relationships amongst experts in London that will allow for side-by-side learning, and facilitating strong, professional relationships with the parents and families of the school. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to equity and inclusion, as well as to safeguarding the welfare of children. The Adolescent Humanities and English Language Teacher role is a part-time position beginning in September 2023.
