We are delighted to announce that Michel Capobianco, has accepted the position of Head of the Maria Montessori School. Michel will join us from Oak Knoll Montessori School in California where she is currently Head of School.
Michel obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Colorado, and she holds AMI Diplomas at the 0-3, 3-6 and 6-12 levels. She completed her Montessori Elementary training at Centro Internationale Studi Montessori in Bergamo, Italy, her 3-6 training at the Montessori Training Centre of Minnesota, and her 0-3 training at The Montessori Institute in Denver, Colorado. With over 20 years’ experience in Montessori education, Michel has taught at the Infant Community, Children’s House, and Elementary levels, as well as led several Parent-Infant classes. Michel has worked in school administration for twelve years, mentoring teachers and working in partnership with the children and families. She is currently completing her fifth year as the Head of School at Oak Knoll Montessori School in California. Aside from deepening her passion and understanding of Montessori, Michel enjoys reading, yoga, live music, cooking, learning about health and wellness, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband and two young children. We look forward to welcoming Michel into our community and in the meantime we are very grateful to Poinsy Pino who will continue as Acting Head of School until Michel joins us.
