Overview

One of the biggest challenges facing anyone working with children today is supporting their emotional resilience. This course is especially for those with a Montessori Diploma 3-6 and will include both theory and practical strategies to support children’s well-being, resilience and behavioural responses.

The obstacles to children’s development are rapidly changing all the time, and this course will enable teachers to revisit and reflect on their Montessori practice and combine it with findings from the latest research as we look to continue our work in supporting children.

Maria Montessori: “It is interesting to notice that where life is simple and natural and where the children participate in the adult’s life, they are calm and happy.”

Montessori teachers are well-placed to support children’s emotional well-being, and to support the behaviours that we see arising as the result of the big emotions that children experience. Montessori teachers spend a great deal of their time observing children and striving to understand their developmental needs and drives. The Montessori approach also supports children to be independent, community-minded and resilient.
