Parent Programme – Montessori in the Home

As part of our mission to champion the power of Montessori we are delighted to able to launch a new programme for UK parents, carers and professionals working with young families which will show how Montessori can nurture young children at home.

This free of charge programme will provide parents and professionals with practical parenting strategies and advice on the home environment. The programme will be delivered via six online sessions. It is open to any parent or professional based in the UK, though we are particularly interested to support those who cannot access our other courses for financial reasons.

What participants say:

“Definitely recommended, will make you become a better parent.”
“Be ready to change your life forever!”
“A must for parents – understand the needs of your child to help them become a successful human being.”
“An exceptionally well put-together programme, delivered by a genuinely inspiring teacher.”

What will the programme cover?

Participants on the programme will:

  • Discover the amazing potential present in all children
  • Learn simple ways to adopt Montessori principles at home
  • Understand how the practical wisdom of the Montessori approach can encourage children’s independence and love of learning
  • Share and explore real-life dilemmas and experiences

More about the Parent Programme

Who is the Programme for?
The course is primarily for parents but is also of interest to other family members or carers including nannies and childminders. The course is open to anyone based in the UK but we are particularly interested in working with those who are disadvantaged economically or in any other way or with professionals working with disadvantaged communities.

What will the Programme enable me to do?
This course will provide inspiration for using a Montessori approach in the home.

How will I participate?
The programme will take place with live online discussion sessions with additional reading and other tasks of approximately one hour a week which can be done at a time to suit you. The sessions will be live on Zoom. You can access the sessions on a PC/laptop/tablet/smartphone with speakers, a microphone and a good internet connection. You will have some opportunities to ask the trainer questions during the session. You will need to have strong English language skills to participate in the sessions.

Please note that we strongly recommend the use of a desktop computer or laptop for all live Zoom sessions.

Can I attend the sessions with my children at home?
Many people on the course will be parents and will have children at home with them. Although ideally you will be able to give the course your full concentration, you can attend with your children in the room and mute your audio if necessary.
