AMI Assistants Certificate

Objectives
The purpose of the course is to provide an introduction to the philosophy and practice of the Montessori approach.

Montessori identified different stages in children’s development and the AMI Assistants Certificate courses offered by the MMI are crafted according to these stages: 0-3, 3-6 and 6-12 years.

Programme
The courses cover:

  • An introduction to Montessori Child Psychology and Child Development
  • An Introduction to Montessori Educational Theory and Practice Observation
  • An Introduction to the relevant Montessori Educational stage (0-3, 3-6 and 6-12 years)

Award of AMI Assistants Certificate 
The Certificate is awarded to students who have satisfied the 90% attendance requirements and have completed coursework to the required standard.

0-3 years
15th March – 14th April 2019
(4 Weekends: Friday, 6:30pm – 9:30pm; Saturday 10am – 5pm; Sunday 9am – 2pm)

Friday 15th – Sunday 17th March
Friday 22nd – Sunday 24th March
Friday 5th – Sunday 7th April
Friday 12th – Sunday 14th April

3-6 years

Tuesday 23rd April – Thursday 6th June 2019
(Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, 6pm – 9pm; one Saturday 9:30am – 4:30pm)

6-12 years
8th April – 19th April 2019
(Monday to Friday, 9am – 4:30pm; 9am-2pm on Good Friday)

Entry Requirements
Successful interview. Minimum of 18 years of age at the start of the course.

Enrolment
Please complete the application form online. On completion of the online form, you will need to email the following documents to support your application; two references, a copy of your highest level of education certificate and answer the following question: Why do you want to do the Assistants Certificate Course?

On receipt of a completed application form and supporting documents an interview will be scheduled.
